When I'm in a "sh*ttiest brother" competition and my opponent is Yigon's brother
This story always makes me so antsy, like shoot I know Yigon isn't gonna follow through but what even are his choices when his brother has him and the rest of the world wrapped around his finger
Also wishing taekang more mental clarity because this is gonna hurt ten times worse if he has his assumptions proven "right" by the drugging scheme
You know what would make this really really good is if she ended up alone or with someone else, like I don't think he's irredeemable I just think he doesn't deserve chasing arc for being that flippant about what he did. And I also am kinda sick of fls having to "fix" the ml, sometimes they're just bad people
I agree. I would rather see the male lead fixing himself with another person or alone instead of using the FL to do this.
Why? Because... I think it would look more natural. They can end up as "friends", not as "she's my obsession". But they will make him repent all the shit he's done and they will live happily ever after.
And bad characters, like evil ones, naturally evil, are strange these days. They prefer to change them halfway.
I feel like this is shounen yaoi. That's all, idk what's giving me that vibe but I am getting it
Oh yeah I can explain what I mean, sorry I made that comment at like 2 am so it's kinda nonsensical to me now too haha
A lot of yaoi is sorta geared towards a female audience so you see a lot of very pretty panels, very big focus on how handsome the characters are, usually less emphasis on female characters etc etc. I wouldn't say that means it's literally "shoujo" but being loose with the term it is geared towards women
In comparison I feel like a lot of shounen will go gritty with art work where expressions can be drawn a little uglier or the characters engage in more shenanigans than you'd see in stuff geared towards women
I'm mostly saying it for comedic reasons because this is just yaoi and comedy in terms of literal genres
(But as an aside I have a gripe with the yaoi/yuri, shounen ai/shoujo ai (?) split of genres because it's almost too broad and action stories with a subplot about romance don't get branded romance in the same way an action series with a subplot with a gay romance is automatically considered romance first)
Ooohhhh I got you. I would see this one being a seinen comedy if it weren't labeled BL, cause it's pretty funny but adult. But I get what you're trying to say.
I do agree that genre labels aren't always accurate since most people think BL is just yaoi (erotica), and they don't label BLs or GLs based on their other genres primarily.
I didn't think there was like a top and bottom dynamic between women, like isn't this a bit one-sided in terms of the s*x scenes? Or maybe I was just misunderstanding
idk I'm a little borderline ace just obsessed with specific romantic dynamics and sometimes I start analyzing smut for the plot in actuality send help
Oh there definitely are top bottom dynamics between women as well. Especially in manga it's pretty common that one woman is pretty much always the one giving and the other is on the receiving end. They might switch it up once or twice but usually the top and bottom dynamic is pretty much the same as in BL.
Sometimes we get two switches but that's rare

So I picked up the novel after another comment mentioned it and read up to the newest chapters and all I can think is that once in awhile the premise of a bl action novel can read a but like a horror.
I'm still enjoying the story and especially love the world-building... just don't know how to think about the relationship. It's not bad, I'm not spoiling, just the whole world-building of "my kind is getting hunted down" is kinda chilling when you think about it haha
As an aside, i think half the reason the story goes the way it does is because of Eden's pretty privilege.
And I don't blame seokha, if a man that pretty were my travel buddy and kept taking me cool places and feeding me cool new foods I might look the other way on all his shady behavior
