From my perspective FL has it now too good and ML is just a tortured horny Superman.
That the original heroine is so much more competent than the FL who is so clumsy and stupid that she gets tossed around a lot.

When I started to read this story I thought I would be following the journey of a bold tough calculating commoner smartass who has some vulnerbilities but still tenacious and really seduced the Duke not because he is drunk or drugged...
Instead the author has turned Jace slowly into very weak fragile helpless Damsel stereotype.
Now I wish Jace would be more like Abigail in movie The Favourite 2018.
Jace may not have much power about the circumstances but he should at least have some dignity/proud and control about his own feelings.

My best guess is this isn't really about Jace the Uke but making the shit tsundere Duke more hot and heroic.
