From the start, Diana was not suitable to be royalty. Personally, I like Helios because he faced his two mistakes pretty fast, repented and tried to make it right. A good material to be a monarch. His first mistake was to chose the saintess instead of the prime strategist+childhood friend Kael. The second mistake was not teaching Diana that being a royalty means that above everything else they are a political party, then a PR company and only after that a family. They play a theatre day and night, everywhere. Diana was not suitable for that and she wasn't taught either. Now Helios tries to make it right but Diana just doesn't understand.
Nah I don't agree. Helios only "tried" making things right when his own life spiraled. Sure he does become genuinely remorseful later but had things turned out okay, would he have even been sorry? First timeline he didn't even reach Cael and this time he constantly pit Hes and even thought of stealing her away!! From his childhood friend that only JUST got better! Unbelievably trashy! If he were actually a good person, he would have tried to make things right before he had no other choice but to do so. If our baby Cael and lovely Hes weren't competent, he never would've bowed his head. He deserves Diana messing up his life
In most of the cases you know the quality of the translation just by reading the summary. But JuJu came for our rescue
That's why there is no quality problem if he is the one who uploads. I think he translated Roses & Champagne before the official version came out but nowadays he doesn't do translation. But my point was if the summary is a mess, the translation won't be any better. For starter, translators should understand that the language they should know the best is English, not (only) the one they translate from. After that they need to understand the cultural context so the translation they provide is understandable. Even an edited MTL could have a better quality this way, compared to a word to word translation.
Thing is, though, that the page + summary is not always created by the people doing the uploads. Sometimes its some MTLer who tries to create the page beforehand and put in an MTL summary, or someone hoping to claim the page for officials. (Creating a page on MGG is such a hassle btw its better to wait for the page to be created by the bot when it rips from some other site like Mangadex or Bato)
As for knowing the language better, no its not necessary that the language they know best is English. It certainly helps, but its not necessary. That's what groups have proofreaders for - if the pairing is good and the TL and PR communicate well. Far too many people think having better English skills means they can just fix MTL and call it a day. Edited MTL might read better but it can't replace having actual proper fluency in the original language.
Profundis is not for everyone and unfortunately neither the genre nor the tags mirror this. It's an apocalypse story and people in the apocalypse tend to be abnormal. Also, the essence of the esper-guide relationship was never love but give and take unless you want everyone, including yourself, to be killed by monsters. I think the author pictured the inhuman abnormality in the apocalypse really well. Yes, including the rape, humiliation, devastation etc. Why would they care of anyone when they see death everyday and could get killed in the next minute? Also, when they finally succeeded, the struggle to become normal was pictured well too. So the horror of the apocalypse and the happiness in the peace goes hand in hand in this story and they together form a kind of equilibrium.
The point is if you cannot take these kind of stories, just ignore them, it's better for everyone.
People are sensitive regarding a lot of things now and sometimes it's so interesting watching them getting pissed off with absolutely unrealistic picturing of rape or other staff as if this (or other) manga would be part of literary realism or naturalism or something. There is not one thing here which is realistic, starting with the bank employee who is doing overtime to save a company, then with the negative IQ girlfriend and another employee who is sleeping at the meeting. LOL. Just go and enjoy the fiction or if you are sensitive just move on without rating. No one will get insensitive of rape, supporter of murders or the maffia just by reading some manga.
It's true that people won't get insensitive, but that's assuming the people who are reading aren't immature, children, or something else. I started reading this kind of thing at an early age, and I literally had no idea it was rape because it was in a gay romance manga. It was only after I grew up and started listening to the pissed off people that I realized what I was reading was wrong. It doesn't matter if it's unrealistic or fiction. It's morally wrong.
Just because I shouldn't doesn't mean I wouldnt. There's age restrictions on a lot of things that are ignored. I'm not a child anymore lmao but, I'm not saying authors should cater to children, I'm saying their depictions STILL DO affect people realistic or not, and if they like drawing rape they need therapy
and?? that’s literally your parents fault for not supervising your time on the internet like i’m so sorry but the author has nothing to do with your childhood experiences. you already said it yourself, THERE ARE RESTRICTIONS, THERE ARE TAGS, THERE ARE WARNINGS. if someone decides to read even after seeing all those, then the author has no responsibility over what YOU chose to do ON YOUR OWN

The novel is perfectly fine, it should be adapted as it is. The change with Diana's visit is not that big but in the novel, she came alone, unannounced, her arrival was reported in front of the doctors but Hestia put her trust to Kaelus and told him to meet her, while she remained with the guests. And Kaelus rejected Diana and criticized her for coming unannounced too, it was like a huge wall between them. It was a very spectacular show-off of their affection which contrasted with Kaelus' decision to not impeach Diana. This decision makes Hestia to re-evaluate her place in the story and her life there, not leaving the castle meanwhile Kaelus is leaving "to rescue his old love" as Hestia believes is happening. These chapters are a bit too rushed, somehow disproportionate and don't do the novel justice. They are not bad like this but not that dramatic either which is a strong point of the novel.
