Well, most of my friends are too perverted to have taken 50 Shades seriously (if that makes sense). I think you have to be pretty vanilla or inexperienced to be turned on by that. 50 Shades makes me violently angry. Its portrayal of the BDSM scene is so very, very WRONG! Anastasia spends the entire series trying to fix Mr. Grey. Oh my god I felt the same way. Honestly it was fairly erotic, for romance type novels. In yaoi we just see the erotic images while we read (and go bananas for it). As far as the BDSM, it was sub par, likely due to the fact that yaoi in this particular sub-genre often depict muuuuuuch more explicit acts and scenarios. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
