I never showed any characters but I did however go on a tangent about a storyline of a yaoi to my mom, although I cut it off before the smexy scene began, I was able to make it sound like a regular shoujo story. In high school I accidentally "liked" a hardcore scene from Under Grand Hotel (a reaaaallly hardcore story omfg) from this manga reading site and it posted on my FACEBOOK ;-; for all my high school classmates. and I didn't know until my sisters confronted me about it a few hours later. Yep, and it wasn't just the yaoi character, but the whole freaking scene ( It was not sfw ╥﹏╥ ).
I remember when I was younger, I was really careless about when and where I was watching yaoi, so eventually my dad found out and we had this really awkward chat. After that, I was a lot more careful about it and watched it when no one was home. reply

The thing I do that works best for me is using reference, looking where there is often shade and using multiple photos .
And if you want to draw a certain pose you can always ask someone to pose for you or even pose yourself. I do this so i can see at least where the basic shading is.
