Honestly, it just depends on the person and their level of maturity. Also, some people are easily influenced at that age and some are not. Honestly, since I don't know you personally, I can't really tell you if you should or should not be reading yaoi. Again, maturity and susceptibility of influence plays a pretty big part in this. ^__^ reply

I think 12 might be a little young, but age and maturity arent the same thing so if you don't think it's bad for you then it probably isnt...I'd just stay away from hectic S & M or the REALLY twisted manwha's out there- I'm 23 and I don't think I'' ever be "old enough" for them (⊙…⊙ ) reply

nope! started aroud your age too after i found shoujo a little too complicated. the discovery is much like porn but the experience comes from the amazing gems of stories you find. just a precaution, if your not into psychological or violent yaoi, dont bash on people who do and especially on the writers. a lot of kids comment how terrible a story is...... 1 reply

Do you feel mature enough to read the explicit subjects that the genre contains? Are you able to act responsibly after being influenced by the graphic readings?

Depends on what you mean by “too young...” If speaking of whether legally too young, it depends entirely on the local and national jurisdiction you’re in, or the laws of Germany regarding Yaoi. Don't worry...I was 11 years old when I first saw Yaoi (exactly Shounen AI) and don't worry if you can't find anyone that also likes those staff. Honestly, yes, you are a little too young. I can't claim I wasn't looking at stuff I shouldn't have been at your age, but it's really better for you to mature a bit before you get into stuff like that. It is probably ok for you to look at Shounen Ai, though. 1 reply
